Indigenous Youth Mobility Program (IYMP) in ACT
This service is run for Indigenous people, aged 16 to 24, from remote areas, who are separated from ‘Country’ and who feel a need to remain in contact with their families.
- You’ll get to move into one of our clean and safe IYMP houses in Canberra.
- You’ll get healthy meals and support from Auswide Projects’ Indigenous staff including help with planning social activities, transport, study assistance, general advice and counselling.
- You will learn life skills.
IYMP has had great success in assisting young people to complete their studies, apprenticeships, higher education or skills training courses and to make the most of their new careers. Meanwhile their families at home can be more relaxed, knowing that their young community members are making the most of their opportunities.
Contact us if you plan to train or study in the ACT and need a place to stay – the IYMP can help you!
IYMP is funded by the Department of Education Employment and Workplace Relations (DWEER).
